Catering and Hospitality
If you aspire to be a professional chef, a hotel manager – or a butcher, baker or confectionery maker – we have all the courses you need to succeed.
At Rotherham College you will be taught by chefs, culinary experts and hospitality professionals in state-of-the-art training kitchens and restaurants.
Our Catering and Hospitality courses combine the practical skills and theory you need – along with a passion for cooking and customer service – to take the first steps towards your dream job, with career opportunities within hotels, restaurants, cruise ships and holiday parks.
Training in both a kitchen and a front of house setting in everything from knife skills, food and beverage service and barista skills to pastry, confectionery and menu planning, you can choose to specialise depending on your area of interest.
Opportunities to test out your new skills include working in our commercial and training restaurant, The Wharncliffe. You will support college events with catering, organising charity events throughout the academic year and taking part in college and external competitions.
Our students have also supported high profile events such as The Rotherham Food and Drink Show and enjoyed working alongside top Yorkshire chef Stephanie Moon.
