Art, Design and Fashion

Rotherham College has always been associated with its art, graphic design and fashion training; the original School of Art which was the forerunner to the college opened nearly 150 years ago.

As a student of Art, Graphic Design or Fashion you will learn in a professional studio environment at our Town Centre Campus.

Many of our highly skilled teaching staff remain working artists, freelance fashion designers and graphic designers with vast industry experience.

Covering aspects including fine art, illustration and 2D design you will learn in our dedicated art and design classrooms including 3D workshops, ceramics areas and a kiln room. Our art students enjoy masterclasses, educational visits and work on live briefs and projects. Final pieces of work are showcased at an end of year exhibition for guests and employers.

Our fashion students work on fashion marketing, illustration, textiles, fashion photography and design and garment making as they develop their portfolio. They organise fashion shows, industry guest speaker sessions and an annual residential trip which takes place in a European fashion capital. Our fashion students also created bespoke outfits for UK drag tour ‘Why Isn’t Everybody Talking About FiFi’ as part of their course.
